Any easy recipes to offer to a college student?

My boyfriend and I just moved into an apartment together, and I feel like being "wifely". Unfortunately, I am not too experienced in the cooking field. Does anyone have any amazing, easy recipes? I am also looking for slow cooker recipes to try. So far, I’ve only had failed attempts!

Thank you!
Thank you to all!

What are some good and quick recipes for dinner that are not expensive?

I am on a tight budget right now and it is just me and my fiance, but I need some ideas for dinner that are cheap but good. Please give me some ideas and recipes. We like all the normal things, like chicken, beef, pork, etc.

Please don’t give me ideas like spaghetti or hamburgers- i know how to cook that. I am talking about something good for a tight budget and alittle new.

We are on a tight budget also…
I make a family pasta recipe about once a week…. no meat though

1 box Radiatore noodles (or similar) I use walmart brand
2 cans diced tomatos
2 cans tomato sauce
Garlic salt
Pepper
Cheddar or Colby Jack Cheese
Stick of butter

Boil the whole box of Radiatore (walmart brand) noodles until soft
Rrinse good with cold water
Pour into a 13×9 glass pan
Add all 4 cans tomatos (no draining)
Add salt and pepper to your liking
Mix it all together
Melt the stick of butter in a bowl in the microwave
Pour over mixture (do not stir)
Bake at 375 for about 45 mins
Slice the cheese and cover the top of the pasta
Continue baking until cheese is melted

This makes great leftovers too!

Other things we make as alternative to spagetti and hamburgers is..

Tortillini
Raviolies
Enchiladas (very easy)
Pigs in a blanket with mac and cheese
Best ever potatoe soup (I have the recipe for that too)
BBQ chicken and mashed potatoes
Cabobs (pork tenderloin, peppers, mushrooms, pineapple marinated in whatever you like)

What are some good, healthy recipes that freeze and reheat well?

I am in my last month of pregnancy. I am going to be quite busy and exhausted for at least the first month that the baby arrives and cooking will be the last thing I want to do. I wanted to have some home cooked things pre-made in the freezer and ready to reheat for convenience. I really want to stay away from ordering in so much. That gets expensive and is not very healthy. I’m not a health nut, I just want to stay reasonable. Your suggestions and any recipes you may have would be a GREAT help! Thanks!!

Congratulations on your newest addition to your family! Being prepared with healthy, easy meals is smart, economical and such a time saver! I’m going to list my favorite recipes that I have frozen before so they are truly time tested and reheat well with the same wonderful taste
Marinara Sauce is a quick and easy, can be made into big batches and then seperated out for the quantity you need for a meal. I also make homemade Pesto and garlic herb butter and put them into ice cube trays for a quick sauce. I like buying chicken breasts and dusting them in seasoned flour, egg wash and Panko breadcrumbs and freeze them for a quick meal during the week. I pull them out the night before and they are thawed and ready to cook however you like them the next night. I love Chicken/Beef Stew, Chicken/Italian Sausages with peppers and onions, Beef Stroganoff, Turkey/Beef Chili, Pork/Chicken or Beef Stir fry, BBQ Pulled Pork or Beef, seafood and fish are quickly cooked so I don’t recommend freezing them unless they are mixed into a complex recipe like crab cakes, those freeze pretty well. Par-cooking might help you as well…….you could always cook your proteins half way, then freeze them and pull them out to thaw that morning for whatever fresh meal you want to make that night. I hope these ideas help you to create a menu that you and your family enjoy, will save you time and money. May God Bless your new Baby!
