My mom is going on a cruise and I feel uncomfortable staying alone so my boyfriend is going to stay with me. We have been together for 4.5 years so it’s not like it is a new relationship. I am not that great of a cook and I was wondering what are some easy recipes/pre made meals that I could try?
I know I posted this 2 hours ago but I wanted to see if I got any different answers!
New products make cooking easy now days. I have tried many of the following and they are delicious.
.
1. Check out the sealed PRE-COOKED beef tips, roast, pot roast, pork roast, chicken, ham, pork chops, meatload, and etc. You will find these packages near the meat section, they are not frozen. Ask a clerk for help in finding them. Use this for your meat dish with a side dish or two of vegetables, rice, or potatoes which can all be found on shelves in packages or boxes, or in the freezer section, or canned.
.
You can now buy packaged rice that you pop into the microwave.
OR bags of rice that you put into boiling water (package and all). The chicken flavor is delicious. Ask a clerk where to find them on the shelves.
.
Packages of dried REAL potatoes that you add water to; they are found on the shelves. Read directions.
.
Gravies in jars. (always read directions)
.
The top brands of frozen dinners are very good now and are perfect for one or two people house holds. These are found in the freeze section at the store.
Just add a canned or frozen vegetable as a side dish.
.
You can buy salad greens in lagre packages now. Buy the ones that have been pre-washed. Check the date!
Add your own dressing which you can buy in bottles.
.
Supermarket deli’s have roasted chickens, fried chickens, roast beef, and side dishes. You can stop in on the way home and grab a quick dinner to take home. No cooking.
.
Crock Pot Cooking (also known as Slow Cooking).
Put the food into the crock pot in the morning, set on low heat, and dinner will be ready in the evening. Here is a quick video on how to use them:

POOR MAN’S STROGANOFF
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. soy sauce
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. chopped green onions (use the green part, too. Sometimes I ONLY use the green part).
1 T. milk
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1 loaf french bread
butter
1 lg. tomato, sliced
1 lg. green pepper, sliced into rings
4-8 oz. shredded cheese (any kind you like)
1. Slice french bread in half lengthwise. Butter both halves. Wrap in foil. Bake at 375 degrees F, for 10-15 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, brown ground beef with green onions, salt, and garlic powder. Drain grease. Stir in sour cream and soy sauce. Heat, but DO NOT BOIL.
3. Spread meat mixture on both halves of french bread. Top with green pepper rings and tomato slices. Sprinkle on shredded cheese.
4. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 5-10 minutes longer to melt cheese. To brown the cheese, you can turn on the broiler for a few minutes, but watch it closely so it does not burn.

here are some ideas, this first one, my whole family loves. We use bulk italian sausage, not the turkey italian sausage, I’m sure mushrooms would be great in this as well
Rigatoni With Sausage and Vegetables
8 oz. (3 C.) uncooked rigatoni (pasta tubes with ridges)
1 lb. Italian turkey sausage links, cut into 1/2-inch slices
1 small onion, cut into thin wedges
1 garlic clove, minced
1 (9 oz.) package frozen sugar snap peas in a pouch, thawed
1 medium yellow bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 C. chicken broth
1 t. dried basil leaves or 1 T. chopped fresh basil
1/2 t. salt
1/8 t. pepper
4 Italian plum tomatoes, coarsely chopped
2 T. olive or vegetable oil
shredded mozzarella cheese
In Dutch oven or large saucepan, cook rigatoni to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain; return to Dutch oven. Cover to keep warm.
Meanwhile, cook sausage in large skillet over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain.
Add onion and garlic; cook and stir 3 minutes. Add sugar snap peas, bell pepper, broth, basil, salt and pepper; mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 3 or 5 minutes, or until sugar snap peas are crisp-tender and sausage is no longer pink.
Add tomatoes and oil; cook over medium-low heat for 3 to 5 minutes or until mixture is bubbly, stirring occasionally.
Add to cooked rigatoni; toss gently to mix. Sprinkle with cheese.
Makes 4 (2-cup) servings.
Southwest Beef and Chile Pizza
1 pound lean ground beef
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 thick prebaked Italian bread shell (12-inch diameter; 16 ounces)
1-1/4 cups prepared mild thick and chunky salsa
1-1/2 cups (6 ounces) shredded Mexican cheese blend or Monterey Jack cheese
1 can (4 ounces) diced green chilies, drained well
2 medium plum tomatoes, seeded, coarsely chopped
1/3 cup thin red onion slivers
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
Heat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. In large nonstick skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes or until beef is no longer pink, breaking up into 3/4-inch crumbles. Season with salt; remove from skillet with slotted spoon.
Place bread shell on ungreased pizza pan or large baking sheet. Spread salsa over shell; sprinkle with 1/2 of cheese. Top evenly with beef, chilies, tomatoes, red onion and remaining cheese.
Bake in 450 degrees Fahrenheit over for 11 to 13 minutes or until topping is hot and cheese is melted. Sprinkle with cilantro; cut into 8 wedges. Serve immediately.
Makes 4 servings (serving size: 2 wedges).
Tip: One cup seeded and coarsely chopped regular tomatoes may be substituted for plum tomatoes. For spicier flavor, shredded Monterey Jack pepper cheese may be substituted.
20-Minute Chicken Parmesan
8 each Chicken breast halves
1 Egg
1/2 cup Bread crumbs
2 tbsp Butter
1 3/4 cup Spaghetti sauce
1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese
1 tbsp Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup Parsley
Remove the skin from chicken breasts. Slightly beat the eggs. Shred the mozzarella cheese. Grate the Parmesan cheese. Chop the parsley
Using palm of hand flatten chicken to even thickness. Dip chicken into egg then into crumbs to coat. In skillet over medium heat, in hot margarine, brown chicken on both sides. Add spaghetti sauce.
Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with cheeses and parsley.
Cover, simmer for 5 minutes or until cheese melts.
SERVES 4-6
