Unconditional love; that is a rarity.  People will love you because you love them back. Everybody has a motive and when somebody says that he or she loves you, you can’t help to think that they want something back.

 It is sad to know that not everybody experience the love of a husband or wife; a father or mother; a brother or sister; a son or daughter or just as a true friend.

 God gave me this vision to start an organization with the name, The Love network. This network should be about people and not just about their needs. So many times we hand out clothes, blankets, shelter and food but we forget to really just be there for people.

 He gave me this vision three years back and I know that it is time to start. Homeless people are more hungry for a spiritual feeding than food. When you speak to people on the streets you will see that hunger in their eyes. The longing to see their loved ones again.

 People lose contact with their loved ones for different reasons, like moving to the cities for better opportunities to better his/her families lives but instead of a better life only finds hardships. After not finding work for some months they usually land on the streets. Without money they lose contact with their loved ones. The longer it takes to find work the more impossible it becomes. When you get to the point where you no longer have the means to sustain yourself not just in terms of food and shelter but also hygienically, you virtually lose any change of ever being employed.

You will find people on the streets that had good jobs and lost it for some reason. In South Africa we know that at a certain age you can forget about walking into a job. These people usually feels that they have failed. They lose their family and so-called circle of friends. Family members feel that they have been let down. This compiles the problem and make these homeless people feel inadequate and worthless.

 Children are living on our streets because their parents are more into their alcohol and or drugs than into their children. They would rather spend their money on these things than onto food and clothing for their children.

 With The Love Network we will try to be a friend to those lonely people out there. We will try to reunite families, try to rebuilt self-esteem. Yes, we will feed and clothe and try to find shelter with whatever resources we have but that will not be the whole package.

 What inspired me three years back when I received this vision, was an eighteen year old girl. She would come from school, finish whatever she needs to do (school projects or and household chores), get on the train to a specific place where her homeless “friends” lived. The only reason why I put friends in inverted commas is because these people were all older than her.  When she arrived there, they would insist that she fist had to knock on there imaginary front door. They lived on an open piece of land and were almost always drunk because they tried to ease the pain. This girl would eat whatever they dish up to her, sometimes knowing that the food was from the rubbish bins. After eating she would just listen to them, give a shoulder because it is often needed. Then she would lead them into choruses and pray for them before she left for home. On Saturdays she could stay much longer.

 Her friends (friends at home and school) tried to understand that but after the first visit they would not return. This is true love. The love not to care about anything else but the person. It doesn’t matter where the person is from, where his at or where his going to,; the love is unconditional.

 It reminds me of Him who gave His life willingly for me and you. He did not care about where we’re from (sometimes from deep dark places in our lives), where we at (some people prefer to stay a little longer) or where we going to (a lot of people do not have a clear plan as to how to get to the other side, so they’re afraid to move forward).

Let us try to reach out to somebody other than just our loved ones. Have you ever thought of having a picnic with some homeless people instead of just giving them food? A chocolate with the food would be really appreciated. When last did they have a warm cup of coffee? What about a prayer?
